HORSEMANSHIP IS HORSEMANSHIP!

NO MATTER what breed of horse you ride, or what discipline you compete/practice, improve your  basics of horsemanship and everything else will improve.   The following  clinics  are starting points and guidelines that can be adapted to the riding level of each individual participant.
SAFETY (both yours and your horses) is the #1 Lesson.

BASIC HORSEMANSHIP/RIDER CONFIDENCE CLINICS- 3 to 5 Days
Limited to 15 participants- (1 horse, 1 rider)
*Understanding Horse Psychology and Behavior
*Principles and Purpose of the Round Pen:
 -Earning a horse's respect & trust, upward and downward transitions;
 -Is your horse hooked up to you?
*Principles and Purpose of Ground School:
 -Proper use of tools/tool management, refining the transitions, increasing the communication
*Practical Mounted Tasks:
 -Putting it all together to develop feel, timing, balance; developing your seat & riding with your legs.
 -Developing transitions- walk- trot- canter, canter trot walk.
 -Obstacle Course and mounted games/activities

COLT STARTING CLINICS- 3-4 Days
Limited to 8 participants(1 colt, 1 rider)

Developing a foundation, preparing them for the first ride:
Round Pen, Ground School, Mounted, same principles as above, yet slightly different approach with younger horses. Safety for horse and rider is well covered.

COLT STARTING DEMOS and PROBLEM HORSE DEMOS

1-2 Day seminars to start a colt or work out issues with a problem horse.
2-3 horses may be worked in a period of a day or a weekend.
Auditors welcome.

RIDING LESSONS- Beginner Level Instruction.
Start on a safe, well mannered horse, in the round pen in a structured and controlled environment.

The costs listed below are costs for the clinic participation and meals ONLY, no facility or stall rental.  If you own a facility, and would like to sponsor a clinic, there will be no charge to you directly.
Arrangements made for meals to be catered in to site.
Facilities available in the Gonzales, TX area, and in Beeville, TX, with stalls and bunking available for additional nightly charges. Please contact for more detailed info.

Basic Horsemanship/Rider Confidence Clinic, 3-day MINIMUM.
$245 per day.

COLT STARTING CLINIC- 3 Days
$750, $100/day every day after, up to 5 days max)

Colt Starting Demo/Problem Horse Demo:
$100 per horse per day.

FREEDOM COURSE CLINICS

In October of 2008 after being personally evaluated and endorsed by Dennis Reis himself, Roy completed the following coursework/tasks to become qualified to be the first instructor from Texas in Dennis' System:
Freedom Course-
Round pen, Ground School, Mounted, Mounted Refined;
Awareness Course-
Round Pen, Ground School, Mounted, Mounted Refined;
Movement Course-
Round Pen, Ground School, Mounted, Mounted Refined.

After completing these 12 endorsements, their are a few more steps to "officially" becoming an instructor for Dennis and holding the Freedom Course, but the process is in the works and will be available very soon!
